MANILA \u2013 In one of the episodes of her morning talk show \u201cKris TV,\u201d actress-host Kris Aquino told guest Karla Estrada that she planned to move to the United States of America next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWala\u00a0 na\u2019ko dito next year. I\u2019ll live in America for a year. Gusto ko talaga tumira sa States ng one year para ma-experience ni Bimb,\u201d she responded when Karla suggested activities they could do together next year.<\/p>\n

(I\u2019m not here anymore by next year. I\u2019ll live in America for a year. I really want to live in the [United] States for one year for Bimb to experience [living there.])<\/p>\n

\u201cAyan ka nanaman. Sinabi mo na \u2018yan sa\u2019kin last year eh. Last year, Singapore lang sinabe mo. Ngayon, States na\u2026 Hindi mo \u2018to maiiwan, ano ka ba. Mamimiss mo \u2018to,\u201d Karla said disbelieving her friend\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

(There you go again. You already told me that last year. Last year, you only mentioned Singapore. Now, [the United] States\u2026 You can\u2019t leave this [country], mind you. You\u2019ll miss this [place].)<\/p>\n

Kris, however, was firm on her plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cGusto ko lang ma-experience ni Bimb\u2026 kasi sinabi ko sa kanya feeling ko naging well-rounded akong individual kasi nag-aral ako abroad. \u2018Tapos natuto ako lahat ng gawain for myself,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

(I just want Bimb to experience\u2026 because I told him that I felt I became a well-rounded individual because I studied abroad. Also, I learned to do everything for myself.)<\/p>\n

Kris believed that her son James \u201cBimby\u201d Yap Jr. will also become a more responsible child if he gets to experience life in the USA.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2019Tapos kapag after three months \u2018di na kaya, umuwi na\u2026 Gusto ko talaga ma-experience niya mag-school bus doon. Gusto ko yung bus stop, lalakad siya,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

(And then, if we can no longer bare the set-up after three months, [we\u2019ll] go home\u2026 I really want him to experience the school bus there. I want the bus stop, [I want] him walking towards it.)<\/p>\n

\u201cTry lang\u2026 Kinaya ko kaya dati and those were the happiest years of my life,\u201d she added when Karla doubted that the Queen of All Media could stay in the USA for long.<\/p>\n

([We\u2019ll] just try\u2026 I lived in that set-up before and those were the happiest years of my life.)<\/p>\n

Kris spent\u00a0most of her childhood days in Boston, Massachusetts where her family was exiled during the Martial Law in the Philippines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
