MANILA — Pia Guanio explained why she’s saying goodbye to being the segment host for 24 Oras’ Chika Minute, the showbiz segment of the GMA primetime newscast.<\/p>\n

Pia said she wants to focus on his husband Steve Mago and her daughter Scarlet, who will now be going to school.<\/p>\n

\u201cScarlet is two years old and she will start school in Alabang already. If I keep 24 Oras,<\/em> we won\u2019t see each other anymore and I can\u2019t bear that. She needs guidance,” Pia told Funfare<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The GMA network, meanwhile, released their official statement on Pia’s leaving the show.<\/p>\n

“After 11 years at the forefront of showbiz news, Pia Guanio has decided to say goodbye to Chika Minute on 24 Oras.<\/p>\n

Pia decided to let go of her anchoring duties on 24 Oras to prioritize family life and raising her daughter.<\/p>\n

GMA Network understands the importance of family and is fully behind Pia\u2019s decision to move forward.<\/p>\n

Pia has been with 24 Oras since it launched in 2004, carving a niche in entertainment news with her fun and classy news delivery.<\/p>\n

With Pia\u2019s help, Chika Minute has etched itself in the consciousness of Pinoy pop culture, with the trademark voice of Pia signaling the start of showbiz news.<\/p>\n

Aside from showbiz news, Pia has also advocated for healthy living and animal rights and produced stories and news features on these.<\/p>\n
