Photo courtesy of Jeane&#8217;s Tumblr account.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA &#8212; Jeane Catherine Napoles, daughter of Janet Lim-Napoles refused to enter a plea during her arraignment yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Because of this, Justices of the Cour of Tax Appeals (CTA) third division entered a not guilty plea for Napoles.<\/p>\n<p>She is facing a\u00a0P17.46-million case for failure to file an income tax return.<\/p>\n<p>Napoles&#8217; lawyer Stephen David told reporters that his client was advised not to enter plea so as not to prejudice any other legal remedy they are intending to avail.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that<\/p>\n<p>The court denied Napoles&#8217; motion for deferral of her arraignment pending the ruling of the Department of Justice (DOJ).\u00a0Her camp earlier filed a petition for review.<\/p>\n<p>CTA also rejected her motion questioning the resolution finding probable cause for the charges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA &#8212; Jeane Catherine Napoles, daughter of Janet Lim-Napoles refused to enter a plea during her arraignment yesterday.
