Dr. Saleem Ali<\/b>\u00a0is the Director of the Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining at the University of Queensland in Australia and Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Vermont’s Rubenstein School of Natural Resources, founding director of the Institute for Environmental Diplomacy and Security and a National Geographic ‘Emerging Explorer’. His research focuses on the causes and consequences of environmental conflicts and how ecological factors can promote peace. Dr. Ali will share some of his thoughts from his recent research on the rare earth industry (see links below) and environmental cooperation in South Asia.<\/span><\/p>\n
