(Screengrab from UNTV)

MANILA – According to lawyer Renato Bondal in a Senate hearing last Tuesday, former Senator Joker Arroyo’s nephew, Dr. Jack Arroyo, was one of Vice President Jejomar Binay’s ‘dummies.’

Dr. Arroyo was allegedly used to take money from the University of Makati (UMak) and the Systems Technology Institute (STI).

In here, Vice President Binay and Dr. Arroyo had set up a private firm called the Philippine Healthcare Educators Inc. (PHEI). The company was originally founded to manage UMak’s College of Nursing. Vice President Binay and Dr. Arroyo were both shareholders of the firm.

“Ganito po ang hatian ng kinikita ng shareholders – UMAk 40 percent, STI 40 percent at kagulat-gulat sa lahat si Jack Arroyo, may 20 percent,” Bondal revealed.

(This is how the earning is divided among shareholders – UMak 40 percent, STI 40 percent and surprisingly, Jack Arroyo has 20 percent in both.)

Bondal asserted that Dr. Arroyo was not a part of UMak or STI, yet he got 20 percent shares from both institutions. His only ‘logical’ explanation of this was that Dr. Arroyo was a ‘dummy’ of Vice President Binay.

Senate blue ribbon subcommittee chairman Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, however, wanted Bondal to show more evidences to support his claims.

Based on the Office of Senator Nancy Binay’s documents, the 20 percent shares were supposed to be owned by STI but went to Dr. Arroyo. The document also showed that Dr. Arroyo was the president of the company during the time he got the shares.

“So that the UMak nursing graduates will have chance to do their RLE (related learning experience) and OJT (on-the-job training) stints in a modern, cutting edge health care institution,” the document said, explaining why PHEI was put up.

MANILA – According to lawyer Renato Bondal in a Senate hearing last Tuesday, former Senator Joker Arroyo’s nephew, Dr. …

[1482,1145,95,483

post-48286","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","category-breaking","category-headline","category-news-ph","category-politics","mauthors-jane-moraleda","mauthors-philippine-canadian-inquirer
["GET
