Being an independent constitutional commission, we will defer to them to ensure that elections happen,\u201d Lacierda said in an interview with\u00a0Radyo ng Bayan.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court on Tuesday nullified the\u00a0P268-million \u201cmidnight deal\u201d with Smartmatic for the repair and maintenance of 82,000 precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with acting Comelec Chair Christian Robert Lim, he said the poll body might consider holding manual elections rather than postponing it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManual elections is better than no elections,\u201d he told reporters.
