MANILA \u2013 Kapamilya actress Erich Gonzales had recently broken up with her four-year nonshowbiz boyfriend.<\/p>\n

Television host Kris Aquino, who is a close friend of the actress, confirmed the split on the Wednesday episode of \u201cAquino & Abunda Tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTinanong ko diretsahan na tanong. Sinabi ko \u2018Are you still in a relationship now? Because the last time na nagpo-promote ka ng finale ng Two Wives sa The Buzz, sinabi mo you\u2019re in a four-year relationship. Does that still hold true now?,\u201d Aquino said, mentioning that she texted Gonzales earlier that day.<\/p>\n

(I directly asked. I said, \u2018Are you still in a relationship now? Because the last time that you were promoting the finale of Two Wives in The Buzz, you said that you were in a four-year relationship. Does that still hold true now?)<\/p>\n

Gonzales then replied with \u2018No more, Ate.\u2019<\/p>\n

Aquino also clarified that Gonzales was never engaged; explaining that the diamond ring the actress wore was not an engagement ring but a \u2018promise ring.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has never been engaged. Never. Klaruhin po natin nung nag guest siya\u2026 we had a baking session that time and she had a diamond solo ring. And tinanong ko if that was an engagement ring, and she said no, it was not,\u201d Aquino recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a gift, a promise ring. Parang ganun (Something like that), but not an engagement ring,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Aside from Gonzales\u2019 \u2018promise ring\u2019, other speculations came up regarding the issue.<\/p>\n

Sources said that her ex-boyfriend\u2019s parents did not like her for their son while others said that her ex-boyfriend actually had an estranged wife and was not yet annulled.<\/p>\n

However, Gonzales\u2019 earlier statements dismissed those rumors.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay ganyan? Sino nagsabe niyan? Hindi\u2026 Wala naman po akong tinatago. I\u2019m very okay sa family niya. Gusto nila ako. Ako yung anak nilang babae kasi only son lang siya. So, sobrang blessed ko talaga,\u201d Gonzales said in an interview on \u201cThe Buzz.\u201d<\/p>\n

(There are rumors like that? Who are the sources? No\u2026 I\u2019m not hiding anything. I\u2019m very okay with his family. They like me. They treat me like their daughter because he\u2019s an only child. So, I\u2019m really blessed.)<\/p>\n

\u201c[He\u2019s] certified single and ready to mingle with me,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

At present, Gonzales is rumored anew, this time about becoming close with Brapanese model-actor Daniel Matsunaga, who was her costar in \u201cTwo Wives\u201d and frequent alongside guest in \u201cKris TV.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speculations on Gonzales and Matsunaga being \u2018more than just friends\u2019 heightened as the two constantly posted photos of them together.<\/p>\n

In one the actor\u2019s photos, he captioned it with a Portuguese phrase translating to \u2018Special dinner tonight with my beautiful date.\u2019<\/p>\n

Gonzales, on the other hand, recently shared a photo of her with the actor and his mom. She also captioned it in Portuguese meaning \u2018I am blessed to meet people who are beautiful not only in appearance but also inside.\u2019<\/p>\n

It can be recalled that in an earlier interview on \u201cAquino & Abunda Tonight,\u201d Matsunaga admitted that he would pursue Gonzales if the actress was single but would keep his distance in respect of her relationship at that time.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaganda naman siya.[but] siyempre I came with very good parents and they taught me the right thing to do. Siyempre may respeto ako para sa sarili ko. So,\u2018yun. Kay Erich, sa boyfriend niya as well. In God\u2019s time. Everything happens for a reason,\u201d he said, explaining why he would not court her then.<\/p>\n
