MANILA — One of the country\u2019s much-anticipated extreme sporting events set in the country\u2019s highest peak will be making a comeback next weekend.<\/p>\n

Dubbed as the International Mt. Apo Boulder-Face Challenge 2015, the event is a 24-hour extreme adventure race with four disciplines to include mountain biking, trekking, water tubing and road running.<\/p>\n

This one-of-a-kind race, which is now on its eight year, is poised to take place in the dense forests of Mount Apo in Sta.<\/p>\n

Cruz, Davao del Sur on April 25 to 26.<\/p>\n

According to the organizers of the event, participants will have to reach the finish line crossing a total distance of 120 kilometers.<\/p>\n

The race is composed of three major categories namely the first being the open elite category where each team should be composed of three participants, two racers and one logistic crew.<\/p>\n

Second and third categories are the all-male relay category and the all-female category where a team should be composed of three racers, one racer to perform each discipline (one racer for mountain biking, one racer for trekking\/trail running and one racer for water tubing).<\/p>\n

The last discipline which is road running will be performed by the three members all the way to the finish line.<\/p>\n

To recall, the event was opened for international athletes in 2012 which drew athletes from ten countries.<\/p>\n

This year, about 30 teams of local and international athletes will be participating in the event.<\/p>\n
