MANILA — Never failing to impress tourists for its picture-perfect view, Boracay on Tuesday was named as the best beach in Asia by the world\u2019s largest travel website, TripAdvisor in its 2015 Traveller’s Choice Awards.<\/p>\n

Boracay\u2019s White Beach to be specific, received the top rank for its \u201ccalm, warm waters, gently sloping sand,\u201d which the site described as \u201cvery relaxing\u201d and \u201cpossibly the most beautiful beach in Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n

The site also noted that the best time to go to Boracay, which has also been dubbed as Asia\u2019s 24\/7 Island, was during peak season on the months December to May.<\/p>\n

Also making it to the list of best beaches were the Yapak Beach (Puka Shell Beach) also in Boracay, Aklan ranking fifth and the Secret Lagoon Beach in El Nido, Palawan ranking 16th.<\/p>\n

The Department of Tourism (DOT) on its official Facebook and Instagram accounts, meanwhile, welcomed the country\u2019s newest achievement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat makes this recognition significant is because the list of award-winning beaches is determined based on the quantity and quality of millions of traveller reviews and ratings for beaches on TripAdvisor, gathered over a 12-month period,\u201d the DOT said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSummer in the Philippines is coming fast and make sure Boracay is in your bucket list,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

The full list of \u2018best beaches in Asia\u2019 are as follows:<\/p>\n

1. White Beach in Boracay, Aklan<\/p>\n

2. Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands<\/p>\n

3. Nai Harn Beach in Rawaii, Thailand<\/p>\n

4. Ngapali Beach in Ngapali, Myanmar<\/p>\n

5. Yapak Beach (Puka Shell Beach) in Boracay, Aklan<\/p>\n

6. Agonda Beach in Agonda, India<\/p>\n

7. Railay Beach in Railay Beach, Thailand<\/p>\n

8. Kata Noi Beach in Karon, Thailand<\/p>\n

9. Phra Nang Beach in Ao Nang, Thailand<\/p>\n

10. Otres Beach in Sihanoukville, Cambodia<\/p>\n

11. Palolem Beach in Canacona, India<\/p>\n

12. Varkala Beach in Varkala, India<\/p>\n
