Grace Poe&#8217;s Facebook page)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA &#8212; It was then-suspended PNP Chief Director Alan Purisima who gave the go signal to launch \u00a0the Mamasapano operation, according to relieved police Special Action Force (SAF) head Director Getulio Napenas.<\/p>\n<p>After denying during past hearings that it was indeed, Purisima who gave him the orders, Napenas finally admitted that the go ahead came from the then, PNP chief.<\/p>\n<p>During the resumption of the Senate hearing, Senate President Franklin Drilon brought up a text conversation between Napenas and Purisima, two weeks before the encounter.<\/p>\n<p>Drilon said that Purisima received a text from Napenas recommending\u00a0\u201cto follow the secondary date as the additional personnel to be used are deployed in Tacloban for the Pope visit. More so, the primary date is too tight while we have a longer window on the secondary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked to explain the message, Napenas said that he recommended that the operation be done on a later date &#8211; January 25 to 26 given that the visit of Pope Francis was the priority at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s secondary date?\u201d asked Drilon to which Nape\u00f1as answered \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd in that same text, you said \u2018for your consideration and approval\u2019 addressed to Purisima?\u201d\u201d the senator asked again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes,\u201d Nape\u00f1as said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s on January 13, 2015 at 1:07 p.m. Thats correct?\u201d Drilon asked and Nape\u00f1as answered \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Purisima said at 1:47 pm and I quote: \u2018Ok na go, for the secondary schedule.\u2019 Do you confirm that?\u201d the senator asked, to which the sacked SAF head said \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn other words, Purisima gave the approval that you go on the secondary date? Very clear?\u201d asked Drilon.<\/p>\n<p>Nape\u00f1as said: \u201cYes, your honor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile he was under suspension?\u201d the senator asked again.
