{"id":40753,"date":"2015-02-03T20:59:47","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T12:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=40753"},"modified":"2015-02-03T20:59:47","modified_gmt":"2015-02-03T12:59:47","slug":"skycable-faces-complaints-from-tv5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2015\/02\/03\/skycable-faces-complaints-from-tv5\/","title":{"rendered":"Skycable faces complaints from TV5"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_40754\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40754\" style=\"width: 217px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/TV5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-40754\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/TV5.jpg\" alt=\"Wikipedia Photo\" width=\"217\" height=\"232\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-40754\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wikipedia Photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA &#8212; Because of its failure to air TV5&#8217;s signal for more than two and a half hours last month, Skycable, the cable television unit of ABS-CBN Corp, is now facing complaints from the country&#8217;s third biggest television network.<\/p>\n<p>TV5 said in a statement that the company lodged a complaint in the National Telecommunications Commission against the cable channel of its rival, ABS-CBN adding that the incident affected the network&#8217;s ratings.<\/p>\n<p>The company also added that\u00a0\u201cthere was also a period during this erratic airing when TV5 on SkyCable fluctuated and was interchanged with AksyonTV.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn Dec. 13, 2014, SkyCable failed to carry the TV5 signal for over two and a half hours, adversely affecting our channel viewership and depriving the public of an important news and entertainment source,\u201d TV5 head of programming Dan de Padua said in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>The company cited reports from a media monitoring group indicating signal loss on Skycable.<\/p>\n<p>The statement quoted the Nielsen report as stating, \u201cthere were 10 other free-to-air channels that we monitor that were affected by the loss of signal, but they were only off air by 7 minutes,\u201d the statement showed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe TV Events team confirmed that there was indeed a signal loss to TV5 on our Sky Cable recordings.
