We should be able to step up to this challenge now,\u201d Poe stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Poe maintained that the MRT fare hike is ill-timed and implemented \u201cnot in accordance with political compassion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lady senator, however, clarified that the Senate has no authority to compel the DOTC to bring back the fare rates to original maximum rate of Php15 from the present Php28.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThey (DOTC) have the authority.
