(Photo courtesy of Smart Gilas Pilipinas Facebook page)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA \u2013 The PBA\u2019s Mighty Mouse Jimmy Alapag shared on Wednesday that he felt that he was ready to retire a year ago, thus the reason why he only asked for one-season extension from the Talk \u2018N Text management.<\/p>\n<p>The 37-year-old cager recently announced his retirement from basketball.<br \/>\n\u201cEvery player knows deep inside him when it\u2019s time to quit,\u201d said Alapag. \u201cBut it\u2019s different with every player. Asi (Taulava), for example, is 41, but he\u2019s still playing great and doesn\u2019t feel like he\u2019s ready to retire soon. Maybe being 6-9 makes a big difference in the wear and tear of the body.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Alapag, his 11 years of playing basketball has taken its toll.
