That\u2019s why before that day, I practiced my Italian, what I would tell him,\u201d said a Filipino seminarian based in Rome when he met the Pope last December 31, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe asked me if I spoke Tagalog. He said, \u2018You speak Tagalog?\u2019 I said, \u2018Yes!\u2019 Then he said, \u2018I\u2019m trying Tagalog but it\u2019s difficult,\u201d said Bro. Francis Dominic Vergara of Congregation of the Sons of Holy Mary Immaculate.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Archbishop Socrates Villegas said that Pope Francis is learning the phrase \u201cSumasampalataya ako,\u201d during his Mass on January 18 at the Quirirno Granstand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he is prepared to say \u2018Sumasampalataya ako.\u2019 It would be stressful for the Pope to recite the Apostles\u2019 Creed in Tagalog.
