I really have no idea (how we won). At some point in the third quarter I told coach Louie, \u2018they were just really beating us. We got to change things up,\u201d said Alaska head coach Alex Compton. \u201cThey were really beating us. They were playing great. They had a really good game plan. They looked sharp.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the third canto, the Aces were down, 61-40 with 2:10 left in the clock. The entered the final quarter, 64-46. But all of a sudden, points were raining from their side.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just felt and I told the guys we need to give our all in the first six minutes,\u201d Compton noted. \u201cWe just need our energy. And they did much better than that. I\u2019m completely not a genius and I didn\u2019t do anything magical. The guys just played hard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cEverything starts with our defense. I thought our defensive intensity in the fourth quarter was just incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the Beermen scored 27 and 29 points in the second and third quarter, respectively, the Aces worked on its defense to hold back their opponent allowing them to make only six points.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The] guys not giving up and everybody coming in with a defensive mindset,\u201d said Alaska center Sonny Thoss.<\/p>\n<p>Calvin Abueva had 16 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.
