MANILA — Church bells all over the country will peal simultaneously when Pope Francis arrives for his four-day Apostolic and State Visit on Jan. 15 at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.<\/p>\n

In a statement addressed to all bishops and priests,Catholic Bishops\u2019 Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Archbishop Socrates Villegas said the ringing of the bells at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday will be \u201ca symbolic gesture of welcome to the Holy Father.\u201d<\/p>\n

Likewise, the Lingayen-Dagupan prelate said it is a call on the Filipino people to pray for the Holy Father during his stay in the country.<\/p>\n
