Photo from Tagle&#8217;s official Facebook page.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA \u2013 As the Papal visit draws near, Manila Archbishop Luis Tagle has a message to politicians \u2013 don\u2019t use the event to advance their interests in the coming 2016 national elections.<\/p>\n<p>He specifically warned against welcoming banners for the Pope with the politicians\u2019 names and faces on it.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, some senators decided to skip the event in order not to be dubbed \u201cepal\u201d or scene stealer.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Minority Leader Vicente Sotto III said he is wary of this. He even summed up his and his colleagues\u2019 sentiments when asked if he will attend any events of the pope \u2013 \u201cNo. I might be seen as epal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, Sen.
