(Globe) on Sunday said that there have not been any major power outages caused by Typhoon \u201cRuby\u201d as of the company\u2019s initial assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Globe Senior Vice-President for Corporate Communications Yoly Crisanto made the announcement after Ruby made landfall in Eastern Samar Saturday (Dec 6) night.<\/p>\n<p>Service disruptions were due mostly to minor power outages and misalignment of antennas following strong winds brought by the typhoon.<\/p>\n<p>The telco has prepositioned critical tools, spares and equipment to expedite recovery process as part of its preparation to cushion the impact of Ruby.<\/p>\n<p>It also implemented a preemptive measures that include a temporary service interruption of mobile coverage in Eastern Samar to minimize significant damage to network infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Full restoration may be completed within a 48-hour period after recovery efforts are initiated, Globe said.<\/p>\n<p>As of 12 pm, Sunday service interruptions have been monitored in some areas in the provinces of Biliran, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte and Western Samar.<\/p>\n<p>At present, Globe\u2019s network operations team has initiated service restoration process in areas affected by the typhoon.<\/p>\n<p>The process mainly involves assessment of the typhoon\u2019s impact on network infrastructure as weather remains unfavorable for field personnel to do actual field work.<\/p>\n<p>Globe\u2019s operations team in Visayas is ready to address network concerns brought by the typhoon, weather permitting,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe safety of our employees is our main priority at any given time,\u201d Crisanto said. \u201cNeedless to say, the company is ready to execute service restoration as soon as weather permits.
