{"id":33541,"date":"2014-12-02T17:38:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-02T09:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=33541"},"modified":"2014-12-04T17:54:12","modified_gmt":"2014-12-04T09:54:12","slug":"ayala-triangle-garden-cited-as-one-of-worlds-best-places-to-see-christmas-lights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2014\/12\/02\/ayala-triangle-garden-cited-as-one-of-worlds-best-places-to-see-christmas-lights\/","title":{"rendered":"Ayala Triangle Garden cited as one of world&#8217;s best places to see Christmas lights"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_33708\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33708\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ayala-triangle-garden-lights.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-33708\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ayala-triangle-garden-lights.jpg\" alt=\"The lights of Ayala Triangle Garden (Photo courtesy of Ayala Triangle website)\" width=\"960\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ayala-triangle-garden-lights.jpg 960w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ayala-triangle-garden-lights-300x125.jpg 300w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/ayala-triangle-garden-lights-900x375.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-33708\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The lights of Ayala Triangle Garden (Photo courtesy of Ayala Triangle website)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA &#8212; As a country known for having the longest Christmas celebration in the world, it\u2019s no surprise that one of its popular Christmas-themed destinations get just the right amount of recognition.<\/p>\n<p>Popular US travel magazine Conde Naste Traveler late last month named the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City as one of the seven places to go \u201cto see spectacular Christmas lights around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ayala Triangle Gardens made its fifth on the magazine\u2019s list, besting the Kobe Luminarie in Kobe, Japan and the Christmas Market in Jena, Germany, which were ranked sixth and seventh place respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In an article written by Conde Naste writer Anna Liesemeyer, she described the Ayala Triangle Gardens as a \u201cnatural haven.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAyala Triangle Gardens is natural haven with a diverse population of trees, including kamuning, golden palms, and fire trees,\u201d Liesemeyer wrote.<\/p>\n<p>She noted how the gardens are a courtyard for the surrounding business district, and started as a way to brighten up the evenings for the workers.<\/p>\n<p>Liesemeyer also gave credit to the tourist spot\u2019s matching background music.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you make your way through the park, Christmas hymns and songs are synchronized to the lights to create an immersive holiday experience,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Completing the top seven places to see spectacular Christmas lights around the world include: Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark; Champ-Elysees in Paris, France; Somerset House in London, UK; and the Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, first to fourth place respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Conde Naste Traveler is also the same publication that recognized Palawan as the top island destination in the world this year after conducting a survey with its readers.<\/p>\n<p>Palawan snagged the top spot after receiving a reader\u2019s rating of 88.750 in the magazine\u2019s annual Reader\u2019s Choice Awards for being home to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, its critically-acclaimed underground river.<\/p>\n<p>There were 30 islands that made it to the top island destination list.
