Helmed by first time Philippine director Hannah Espia, the film was also the Philippines\u2019 lone entry to the 2014 Academy Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The MLYP is a new organization composed of Canada-based Filipinos in various professional capacities.  The group aims to address the rising number of Filipino high school students in the lower mainland at-risk of falling out of high school.
