Photo courtesy of Sam Kim \/ Twitter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA \u2013 In preparation for the coming visit of Pope Francis in the country, the government is set to build a \u201cpopemobile,\u201d according to organizers on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is our visitor and we can\u2019t let anything bad happen to him,\u201d the government\u2019s chief protocol officer Marciano Paynor said.<\/p>\n<p>Paynor, however clarified that while they are carefully preparing for the Pope\u2019s safety in his visit next year, there were no reported specific threats against the Pope.<\/p>\n<p>The Pope earlier said that rather than using the Vatican\u2019s bulletproof \u201cpopemobile,\u201d he prefers using open-top cars.<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis also described \u201cpopemobiles,\u201d used by previous pontiffs as a \u201csardine can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is true something could happen to me but let\u2019s be realistic, at my age I do not have much to lose,\u201d he said in June, adding that the popemobile made it hard to connect with the faithful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Pope requested that it be kept simple.
