Photo courtesy of Drilon&#8217;s official Facebook page.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1415921753497_31168\" class=\"yiv7516786310MsoNormal\">MANILA &#8212; The Senate inquiry on the alleged corruption charges raised against Vice President Jejomar Binay will push through despite his earlier request for it to be stopped.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1415921753497_31159\" class=\"yiv7516786310MsoNormal\">Senate President Franklin Drilon on Monday said that President Aquino spoke to him about Binay\u2019s request to stop the ongoing senate inquiry.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1415921753497_31161\" class=\"yiv7516786310MsoNormal\">He also confirmed previous reports that the President turned down Binay\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1415921753497_31163\" class=\"yiv7516786310MsoNormal\">Drilon added that he told the President that no one, not even the President can dictate what the senate should do.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1415921753497_31200\" class=\"yiv7516786310MsoNormal\">\u201cWell, the President can\u2019t also dictate to the Senate when to start or stop a hearing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1415921753497_31202\" class=\"yiv7516786310MsoNormal\">\u00a0\u201cI told him, \u2018Sir, you were part of the Senate before. You know nobody can dictate to the senators what to do, especially when the matter of when to start and to stop an investigation is addressed to the chair and members of a committee.
