Now that I am in middle age, I think it would be supremely hard work. So I need to build up my stamina,” she said.

Santiago also added that she won’t turn her back on the great number of people asking her to run for President.

“This is noticeable in social media. I cannot turn my back, I am not deaf. I have many, many misgivings. One is my health. Can I stand it? Can my health bear it?” she said in a GMA-7 interview.

Meanwhile, when asked if she can beat Vice President Jejomar Binay in the coming presidential elections, she said:

“Oh yes, definitely. Kasi sa atin question lang yan kung meron kang pera. (The only question is if you have the money.),” she said.

“Wala akong kinakatakutan. Kung bastusan, masasagot ko sila. English pa, yung kanila Tagalog lang,” she added.

(I am not afraid of anything. I can answer them in English, when they can only speak in Filipino.)

MANILA — Though she is yet to decide if she will run for president, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago said that …

[95
7065
post-31460","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news-ph","tag-santiago","mauthors-lei-fontamillas","mauthors-philippine-canadian-inquirer
["GET
