MANILA — Vice President Jejomar Binay on Tuesday brushed\u00a0off claims that his political career was over.<\/p>\n

\u201cNapakalaki ng lamang ko. Never in the history na may ganun, hindi naman ganun kaagad ang lamang\u201d (I keep a wide lead in surveys. Never in history that someone is leading the race by a wide margin),\u201d Binay said.<\/p>\n

The statement was made during the sidelines of his participation in the boodle fight with members of the Philippine Navy at the Bonificio Naval Station.<\/p>\n

Despite the recent corruption allegations thrown against him, Binay appeared bullish expressing confidence that the claims will eventually be over.<\/p>\n

He added that his political rivals were already ‘resorting to fairy tales’ in their desperate attempt to destroy his political attempt.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a nationwide and well-oiled campaign against me. Every negative comment by the media is paid. (My detractors) have money to use,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He, however, said that despite these negative accusations, he still leads the recent surveys.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven at my lowest, I am still in the lead,\u201d he said, referring to the recent results of the Social Weather Stations survey.<\/p>\n

Last September, his net satisfaction decreased 15 points from 67 to 52.<\/p>\n
