MANILA \u2013 The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has released the nominees for this year\u2019s \u201csexiest vegetarian\u201d contest which included eight Filipinas.<\/p>\n

Filipina model Amanda Griffin Jacob, named last year’s “sexiest vegetarian” in the Philippines, is included in the list with other past winners including actress-singer Geneva Cruz and Fil-German model Sandra Seifert.<\/p>\n

The country\u2019s representative in next year\u2019s Miss Universe competition, Binibining Pilipinas winner, Mary Jean Lastimosa is also included in the list with singers Lougee Basabas and Nityalila Saulo.<\/p>\n

Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan and Chin Chin Guitierrez were also nominated.<\/p>\n

“When I was eating meat, I had a lot of digestive issues,” revealed Jacob, who first went vegetarian back in 2007.<\/p>\n

“Now that I’m vegetarian, I feel wonderful both mentally and physically. Most importantly, I know I’m giving my children the best possible start in life,” she said.<\/p>\n

The nominees will be competing with celebrities from different parts of the world.<\/p>\n

Last year, the list of nominees also included famous Hollywood stars and icons including former U.S. President Bill Clinton and musicians Jason Mraz and Paul McCartney.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
