NEW YORK\u2014Newly married George Clooney surprised fans with an appearance at New York Comic-Con on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Clooney, who married human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin on Sept. 27 in Venice, Italy, walked on stage during a panel discussion for the upcoming Disney fantasy film, \u201cTomorrowland,\u201d in which he plays a hermit inventor.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not lost on me that I\u2019m spending my honeymoon at Comic-Con,\u201d Clooney told the crowd to thunderous applause.<\/p>\n

Panel moderator Chris Hardwicke then asked the actor, \u201cSo what did you say, \u2018Honey we\u2019re going to Comic-Con.\u201d\u2018<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was as confused as you all were,\u201d responded Clooney.<\/p>\n

Prior his walking on stage, Disney showed the crowd a two-minute trailer of the film.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been waiting on this for a year and a half and that\u2019s it,\u201d Clooney told director Brad Bird. \u201cI\u2019m barely in the teaser.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later, Clooney introduced an exclusive clip from the film that prominently showed him and Britt Robertson in an action sequence.<\/p>\n

Clooney called the experience larger than anything he\u2019s ever done.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were all over the world for this film. Hugh (Laurie) and I got to get in trouble in the Bahamas. That was fun, two former television doctors,\u201d Clooney told the crowd to prolonged laughter. \u201cBring on that McSteamy guy, we\u2019ll take on all of them TV doctors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Laurie starred on \u201cHouse,\u201d while Clooney appeared on \u201cER.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also hammed it up with references to superheroes. \u201cSince I did Batman, I\u2019ve been de-invited from Comic Con. … I met Adam West and apologized.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTomorrowland\u201d is set for release next May.<\/p>\n
