Helga Esteb \/ Shutterstock.com.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>LOS ANGELES\u2014Paula Patton has filed for divorce from Robin Thicke and is asking for joint custody of their son.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPrecious\u201d and \u201c2 Guns\u201d actress filed for divorce from the \u201cBlurred Lines\u201d and \u201cGive It 2 U\u201d singer Friday in Los Angeles, citing \u201cirreconcilable differences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 38-year-old actress and 37-year-old singer announced they were separating in February after nine years of marriage. They have a 4-year-old son.<\/p>\n<p>Patton was the inspiration behind much of Thicke\u2019s music and appeared in some of his videos.<\/p>\n<p>The crooner\u2019s latest album, \u201cPaula,\u201d sold only 24,000 units in the U.S. when it was released in July.
