(File <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PLDTHome\/photos\/a.324000771020346.79788.233662293387528\/1450256678394744\/?type=3&amp;amp;theater\">Photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PLDTHome\/\">PLDT Home\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 A United States-based broadband testing company has awarded both PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications as the fastest fixed internet and mobile network providers in the Philippines for 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In a report based on data gathered in the first two quarters of the year, Ookla said PLDT won its \u201cSpeedtest Award\u201d for the \u201cFastest Fixed Internet\u201d in the Philippines, noting that the company achieved a \u201cSpeed Score\u201d of 24.79 with a top speed of 70.54 megabits per second (Mbps) download and 85.38 Mbps for upload.<\/p>\n<p>It said 90 percent of the final Speed Score is attributed to download speed and the remaining 10 percent to upload speed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Speed Score uses a modified tri-mean to demonstrate the download and upload speeds that are available across a provider\u2019s network.
