(Netflix Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b class=\"article-contentstyles__ArticleBold-pei0rm-11 gyyhID\">Seoul, 1 December, 2020 &#8212;\u00a0<\/b>Netflix announced an exciting new original series project, the Korean adaptation of its beloved Spanish original series\u00a0<i>La casa de papel<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Set on the Korean peninsula, the Korean adaptation of\u00a0<i>La casa de papel<\/i>\u00a0will be directed by Kim Hong-sun, who has helmed TV dramas like\u00a0<i>The Guest<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Voice<\/i>, and\u00a0<i>Black<\/i>\u00a0and is known as a giant in the fantasy crime genre. Ryu Yong-jae and his team, whose credits include the Netflix original series\u00a0<i>My Holo Love<\/i>\u00a0and tvN series\u00a0<i>Psychopath Diary<\/i>, will be the screenwriters for the show. The production is a collaboration between BH Entertainment and Contents Zium.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Pina, Creator and Executive Producer of\u00a0<i>La casa de papel<\/i>\u00a0said: \u201cKorean creators have been developing their own language and audiovisual culture for years. They have managed, like our series, to go beyond cultural borders and become a point of reference for thousands of viewers around the world, especially among young people.\u201d He added, \u201cThat is why I find it fascinating that the world of\u00a0<i>La casa de papel<\/i>\u00a0is so attractive to Korean creators as to do an adaptation.
