(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/prulifeukofficial\/photos\/a.409312405802818\/1690418961025483\/?type=1&amp;amp;theater\">File photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/prulifeukofficial\">Pru Life UK &#8211; Official\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) received a boost in protecting their business and personnel through digital solution, Pru Life UK\u2019s Business@Pulse.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In a virtual briefing Wednesday, Pru Life UK president and chief executive officer Antonio De Rosas said SMEs can now buy group insurance through the company\u2019s mobile app Pulse, a new trend in the insurance industry.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cPulse is actually offering us a new way of approaching customers on a group basis and also servicing them during their lifetime, or during the period they are policy holders with us,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Pulse was launched by Prudential for its Asian businesses in the second half of 2019 initially as an all-in-one health management mobile app.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The latest addition to the services it offers includes a feature wherein SME owners can submit and view their company\u2019 information and employment data.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Pru Life UK vice president for enterprise business Marlette Jaranilla said it will lessen the need for their agents to generate a proposal to the business owner.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">SME owners can also check on the app policies and coverage of their employees anytime and to check for latest Pru Life UK products and services.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Jaranilla said SME employees who have been given insurance coverage by their employees would be able to check over the app their benefits as well as submit and make insurance claims.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">De Rosas is optimistic for the app\u2019s contribution to sales since \u201cright now, our business outlook has been very good despite the pandemic\u201d with the help of their virtual tools.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said the company\u2019s virtual tools have not been integrated into the Pulse but once these are integrated into the mobile app\u2019s system and accessed by Pru Life UK agents, \u201cthat will continue the momentum that we\u2019re having.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">De Rosas said more than 55 percent of Pru Life UK submissions for sales, among others, are now done virtually.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said Pru Life UK agents can now engage with customers virtually through Pulse but when the functionality that will allow them to show illustrations and proposals, among others, will be provided then \u201ceverything will be one stop shop.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">De Rosas said they aim to fully integrate agent functionality into Pulse within one to one-and-a-half years to further improve sales and services.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said the company currently sells through PruShoppe,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.prushoppe.com&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNH5GRJ1djo5wxCr3Md87ESNaZ4sUw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.prushoppe.com%26sa%3DD%26sntz%3D1%26usg%3DAFQjCNH5GRJ1djo5wxCr3Md87ESNaZ4sUw&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1607000485760000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEuy0NKRzxpD7p6KFHxGqcb67Ahuw\">www.prushoppe.com<\/a>, simple protection products without the need for agents\u2019 intervention.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">However, de Rosas said if a person wants to invest in unit investment trust funds (UITFs) with critical illness riders, then he needs to talk to an insurance agent.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cRight now, that is somewhat within Pulse but mostly outside of Pulse, through the use of a virtual selling tool.
