Nova Scotia issued new invitations to apply for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence through its Express Entry-linked Labour Market Priorities immigration stream on December 1.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Nova Scotia Nominee Program<\/a>\u00a0(NSNP) did not specify how many invitations were issued in the draw.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Labour Market Priorities Stream<\/a>\u00a0allows the NSNP to search the federal\u00a0Express Entry<\/a>\u00a0pool for candidates who meet labour market needs in the province. Past draws through the stream have targeted\u00a0programmers and media developers<\/a>,\u00a0automotive industry workers<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0nurses<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The invitations issued December 1 went to eligible Express Entry candidates who have a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer for full-time skilled work in Nova Scotia. The offer of employment must be for a period of at least one year after the permanent resident visa is issued. The term \u201cfull-time\u201d means working year-round and at least 30 hours per week.<\/p>\n

Candidates must also have one year of skilled, job-related work experience and have a Canadian secondary school diploma or the equivalent.<\/p>\n

Lastly,\u00a0 the draw targeted Express Entry candidates who have a\u00a0Canadian Language Benchmark<\/a>\u00a0(CLB) score of 5 or higher in French or English.<\/p>\n

Those who received a letter of invitation in today\u2019s draw now have 30 calendar days to submit a complete application to NSNP.<\/p>\n

Candidates must include a copy of language tests, proof of education and of a job offer with their application.<\/p>\n

In order to be considered for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia through the\u00a0Labour Market Priorities Stream<\/a>, candidates first need to have a profile in the\u00a0Express Entry system<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Express Entry manages applications for Canadian permanent residence through three federal immigration programs:\u00a0Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/a>\u00a0(FSWP),\u00a0Federal Skilled Trades Program<\/a>\u00a0(FSTP), and\u00a0Canadian Experience Class<\/a>\u00a0(CEC).<\/p>\n

Express Entry candidates are ranked on the\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS). They are awarded points based on factors such as their age, work experience, education, and language ability in English or French.<\/p>\n

Express Entry candidates with a\u00a0provincial nomination<\/a>\u00a0will automatically be awarded an additional 600 CRS points, which will effectively guarantee that they will receive an\u00a0Invitation to Apply<\/a>\u00a0(ITA) in a subsequent\u00a0Express Entry draw<\/a>.<\/p>\n
