(File photo: Christin Hume\/Unsplash)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Starting Monday November 30, 2020, the Service Canada appointment system for scheduling biometrics appointments will resume service.<\/p>\n<p>This will enable clients of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to book their own\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/visiting-canada-biometrics.html#gs.mlvc8r\">biometrics<\/a>\u00a0appointments online which should be more efficient.<\/p>\n<p>Service Canada officers began calling IRCC clients to schedule biometrics appointments from mid-September.<\/p>\n<p>However, effective this coming Monday, clients who have not yet been contacted should use the online scheduling tool to book their biometrics appointment, as noted in their biometrics instruction letter.<\/p>\n<p>IRCC says in its<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/news\/notices\/biometrics-tool-reopening.html\">\u00a0news release<\/a>\u00a0that clients should book their appointment at the Service Canada office closest to them.<\/p>\n<p>Walk-in service is not available so only those with appointments will be able to submit their biometrics at Service Canada locations.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants for permanent residence who have not submitted biometrics within the last 10 years will need an appointment to meet the biometrics component of their immigration application processing.<\/p>\n<p>IRCC also notes that biometrics exemptions continue to be in effect for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/news\/notices\/biometrics-exemption-temporary-residents.html\">temporary residence applicants in Canada<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/news\/notices\/biometrics-exemption-permanent-residents.html\">permanent residence applicants who submited their biometrics in the last 10 years.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"bottom-btn\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/assess\/canada-immigration-assessment-form.htm?utm_source=CICNews&amp;utm_medium=Article&amp;utm_campaign=CIC-20201128servicecanadabiometrics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Find out if you\u2019re eligible for Canadian immigration<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a9 2020 CIC News All Rights Reserved<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Starting Monday November 30, 2020, the Service Canada appointment system for scheduling biometrics appointments will resume service.
