Razon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">MANILA\u00a0\u2013 German companies operating in the Philippines have better business sentiments in the latest poll but remain cautious as negative impacts and big risks persist amid the pandemic.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In its AHK World Business Outlook (WBO) Survey-Fall 2020 released Friday, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) said firms have a more positive sentiment about their respective business activities compared to the previous WBO Spring 2020 survey.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In the latest survey, 50 percent of the respondents expect better business situations within the next 12 months.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This improved from 20 percent that projected better business situations for themselves over a 12-month period in the previous survey.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cCompanies already see some light at the end of the tunnel,\u201d GPCCI President Stefan Schmitz said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Firms that said they would reduce their headcount also decreased to 35 percent in the Fall survey from 44 percent in the Spring survey.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cHowever, many risks persist and the uncertainty in the economy remains,\u201d Schmitz added.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The biggest risks to surveyed firms here include demand issues (64 percent), economic framework (58 percent), and financing (51 percent).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Travel restrictions remain the top concerns of German firms here.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Meanwhile, among the measures implemented by the surveyed companies amid the pandemic include cost reductions, increased digitalization, and postponing and canceling investments.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The WBO Survey-Fall 2020 was conducted from Sept. 30 to Oct. 19 this year with a total of 69 respondents.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0\u2013 German companies operating in the Philippines have better business sentiments in the latest poll but remain cautious as negative &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":274921,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[19],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-276878","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-business","mauthors-kris-crismundo","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/276878","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=276878"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/276878\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":276879,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/276878\/revisions\/276879"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/274921"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=276878"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=276878"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=276878"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
