{"id":276104,"date":"2020-11-20T09:42:43","date_gmt":"2020-11-20T14:42:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=276104"},"modified":"2020-11-20T09:42:43","modified_gmt":"2020-11-20T14:42:43","slug":"visa-application-centres-are-re-opening-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2020\/11\/20\/visa-application-centres-are-re-opening-in-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Visa Application Centres are re-opening in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>VACs in India will begin to schedule limited biometrics appointments as of November 20 in: Delhi, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian government has just announced that its Visa Application Centres (VACs) in India will resume services tomorrow, on November 20, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In a new tweet, the government stated it will schedule limited biometrics appointments in Delhi, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru.<\/p>\n<p>It will prioritize\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/study-in-canada-options.html#gs.lb7nbn\">international students<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-family-sponsorship-visa.html#gs.lb7p3x\">family class applicants.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Resuming biometrics is the last remaining major obstacle for those in India who are exempt from Canada\u2019s coronavirus travel restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>While international students have been exempt from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/coronavirus-covid-19-impact-canada-immigration-visa-border-latest-news.html#gs.lbb6kl\">Canada\u2019s travel restrictions<\/a>\u00a0as of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2020\/10\/canadian-schools-reopening-to-international-students-1016116.html#gs.lbb8bj\">October 20,\u00a0<\/a>Indian students who have not submitted biometrics before could not travel to Canada. The same could be said for family class and skilled worker immigrants who are also exempt from the travel restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Now that VACs in India are resuming services, those who are exempt from Canada\u2019s travel restrictions will be able to submit their biometrics so they can complete their immigration application processes in support of their eventual arrival to Canada.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">(1\/4) &#x1f6a8;VAC Update&#x1f6a8;<br \/>\nVACs will begin scheduling limited biometric appointments as of November 20 in: Delhi, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad &amp; Bengaluru.
