{"id":274274,"date":"2020-11-06T03:19:08","date_gmt":"2020-11-06T08:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=274274"},"modified":"2020-11-06T03:25:18","modified_gmt":"2020-11-06T08:25:18","slug":"a-song-about-self-acceptance-benbens-di-ka-sayang-is-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2020\/11\/06\/a-song-about-self-acceptance-benbens-di-ka-sayang-is-here\/","title":{"rendered":"A song about &#8216;self-acceptance:&#8217; Ben&amp;Ben&#8217;s &#8216;Di Ka Sayang&#8217; is here!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While it is okay for people to not feel okay with themselves sometimes, perhaps having many unanswered questions floating in their minds, it is good to have a constant reminder that tells them that they are worth it no matter what happens.<\/p>\n<p>Titled &#8220;Di Ka Sayang,&#8221; Filipino band Ben&amp;Ben dropped their latest single on early Friday, November 6, which reminds listeners about &#8220;self-acceptance and embracing who you are.&#8221; This, they said, is the &#8220;first single of the new era.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The band initially released the song on their official Facebook page because of problems they encountered with streaming platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Miguel Benjamin Guico, the other half of the band\u2019s twin vocalists, shared on Twitter that they were as excited as their fans, collectively known as &#8220;Liwanag,&#8221; to drop the song at midnight, but unexpectedly, they happened to have technical errors in some platforms. Wanting things to go as planned, the band, Miguel said, immediately looked for a way to release the song even temporarily on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Then finally <em>naging<\/em> impromptu listening party <em>na lang<\/em> with everyone joining in <em>nung<\/em> finally <em>naka<\/em>upload<em> na<\/em> (Then finally it became an impromptu listening party with everyone joining in when it is finally uploaded),&#8221; he tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>The song posted on their Facebook page has 69,000 shares, as of writing.<\/p>\n<p>Miguel expressed gratitude to those who waited with them for the song&#8217;s release.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Liwanag, now that we&#8217;re entering this new era together, <em>gusto ko lang magpasalamat. Kung bago ka mang<\/em> listener <em>o dati ka pang nakikinig <\/em>(I just want to thank you.
