{"id":272982,"date":"2020-10-26T05:49:36","date_gmt":"2020-10-26T09:49:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=272982"},"modified":"2020-10-26T05:49:36","modified_gmt":"2020-10-26T09:49:36","slug":"palace-congratulates-miss-universe-philippines-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2020\/10\/26\/palace-congratulates-miss-universe-philippines-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Palace congratulates Miss Universe Philippines 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FTheMissUniversePH%2Fposts%2F836442153772000&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=552&amp;height=659&amp;appId\" width=\"552\" height=\"659\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Malaca\u00f1ang on Monday congratulated Rabiya Mateo of Iloilo City for being crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2020 during the pageant&#8217;s pre-taped coronation ceremonies on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBinabati po namin si<\/em>\u00a0Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo\u00a0<em>na tinanghal na<\/em>\u00a0Miss Universe Philippines\u00a0<em>kahapon<\/em>\u00a0(We congratulate Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo who was named Miss Universe Philippines yesterday),\u201d Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a Palace press briefing.<\/p>\n<p>Roque, who was among the pageant\u2019s panel of judges, expressed hope that Mateo\u2019s reign would be \u201cfruitful\u201d and \u201cproductive\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNag<\/em>-align\u00a0<em>ang mga bituin para siya ang iproklamang pinakatatanging Pilipina sa buong<\/em>\u00a0Universe (The stars aligned so that she can be proclaimed as the most unique Filipino in the whole universe),\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Mateo, who bested 45 other candidates, will represent the country in the next Miss Universe pageant.<\/p>\n<p>Para\u00f1aque City\u2019s Ysabella Ysmael was named first runner-up while Quezon City\u2019s Michele Gumabao bagged second runner-up honors.<\/p>\n<p>Bohol\u2019s Pauline Amelinckx was named third runner-up while Kimberly Hakenson of Cavite was fourth runner up.<\/p>\n<p>Besides Roque, among the judges were ACT-CIS Rep.
