MANILA, Philippines \u2013 Green Archers forward Jeron Teng gave no excuses after De La Salle University\u2019s (DLSU) defeat to unbeaten Far Eastern University (FEU), 60-65, in their playoff game in the UAAP Season 77 men\u2019s basketball tournament held last September 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena.<\/p>\n

\u201cAno nalang, no excuse ako. Medyo wala pa ako sa timing,\u201d Teng said after the game.<\/p>\n

Though Teng recently recovered from a mild case of dengue fever, he did not use this as an excuse to defend his side and save his face for his \u2018miserable game,\u2019 scoring only eight points, eight rebounds and two field goals in the loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cWala na. Wala na akong lagnat. 100% na ako,\u201d Teng said.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-2 Teng also missed four of his last six free throws in the extra period.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m still working on it [free throws] sa game. Pero walang excuse for my missed free throws. Siguro, it\u2019s all mental,\u201d Teng said<\/p>\n

Jeron\u2019s father, former PBA player Alvin Teng, \u2018believed that his son\u2019s performance may have something to do with the pressure from the crowd.<\/p>\n

La Salle and FEU will meet again on Saturday to start their semifinals series at the same venue. La Salle now has to win two straight games against FEU to make it back to the finals.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlessed lang kami kasi we have a chance to prove ourselves,\u201d Teng said.<\/p>\n
