MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that 50 more police officers have recovered from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing the total number of recoveries among its ranks to 5,900.<\/p>\n

This brings down the number of active cases in the police force to 666, based on data from the PNP Health Service released on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, 71 new infections were reported in the police force, bringing the total number of cases to 6,586.<\/p>\n

Of the new cases, 25 are from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga), followed by PRO Cordillera with eight, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has seven, PRO 4-A (Calabrazon) and 6 (Western Visayas) with four each, National Operational Support Unit and PRO 10 (Northern Mindanao) and National Headquarters with three each, PRO 2 (Cagayan Valley), 3 (Central Luzon), 8 (Eastern Visayas) and 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) with two each while National Administrative Support Unit, PRO 1 (Ilocos Region), 7 Central Visayas, 11 (Davao Region), 12 (Soccskargen) and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) with one each.<\/p>\n

The PNP’s Covid-19 death toll stands at 20.<\/p>\n

Cops tested for Covid-19 observe a 14-day quarantine and undergo another test.<\/p>\n
