MANILA \u2013 Refusing to answer the allegation on his use of \u201cdummies\u201d to hide his assets, Vice President Jejomar Binay, instead slammed Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, one of the leaders of the Senate inquiry on the alleged overpricing of the Makati City Hall Building II.<\/p>\n

During his visit on Laguna province on Friday, Binay was evasive when asked by reporters about the recent testimony of the alleged \u201cdummies\u201d he used to conceal his assets.<\/p>\n

Instead of answering the issues, Binay instead corrected what he said was an erroneous point raised by Cayetano about the evidence presented during the Senate inquiry.<\/p>\n

He said that Cayetano seemed to be lecturing him on his previous statement about Senate hearings as unacceptable testimonial evidence in court.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe evidence I was talking about, if you look at the speech of Justice (Reynato) Puno in 2012, (he said that) an allegation without cross-examination is not evidence (but) mere allegation,\u201d Binay said in a mixture of English and Filipino, as quoted in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, when asked about the issue on fronting a dummy to win contracts and conceal assets, Binay challenged the Senate to define the meaning of the word \u201cdummies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish they would define first what they mean by dummies,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He further challenged Cayetano asking if he do not have dummies.<\/p>\n
