(File <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DOTrMARINAPH\/photos\/a.516941102037099\/1095826654148538\">photo<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DOTrMARINAPH\/\">Maritime Industry Authority\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) on Wednesday issued new guidelines on physical distancing in passenger ships following the recent easing of physical distancing in all forms of public transportation.<\/p>\n<p>MARINA, through advisory No. 69, detailed the different distances allowed between passengers and the number of passengers allowed on board &#8212; depending on the community quarantine classification the ships are operating in.<\/p>\n<p>Since Monday, ships operating between areas under a general community quarantine (GCQ) are allowed to have 0.75 meters (m) distance between passengers, with an authorized capacity of 75 percent of the ship\u2019s maximum capacity.<\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 28, it said ships traveling between GCQ and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) areas will be required to have at least 0.5 m distance between passengers and an authorized capacity of 85 percent.<\/p>\n<p>By Oct. 12, it said passenger ships traveling between MGCQ areas will be allowed to have 0.3 m of physical distance between passengers and an authorized capacity of 90 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the new distancing guidelines, it said face masks and shields remain mandatory for all passengers and ship crew.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne-meter physical distance between passengers during boarding and disembarkation must always be observed,\u201d the advisory read.<\/p>\n<p>For ships operating between areas under enhanced community quarantine and modified enhanced community quarantine, transportation is limited to cargo transportation, no passengers allowed.<\/p>\n<p>The advisory was issued in accordance with Resolution No. 67 by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease on Aug. 31 that allowed an increase in ridership in public transportation through the reduction of physical distancing among passengers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0\u2013\u00a0The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) on Wednesday issued new guidelines on physical distancing in passenger ships following the recent easing &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":268933,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-268932","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-raymond-carl-dela-cruz","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/268932","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=268932"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/268932\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":268934,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/268932\/revisions\/268934"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/268933"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=268932"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=268932"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=268932"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
