MANILA — Makati City Mayor Erwin “Junjun” Binay once again, snubbed today\u2019s Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing adding that it is about time to question the committee\u2019s jurisdiction.<\/p>\n

“Panahon na para liwanagin at kwestyunin ang hurisdiksyon ng sub-committee at ng Senate Blue Ribbon committee mismo,” Binay said in a televised press conference on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

(It is about time to clear and question the jurisdiction of the sub-committee and the Senate Blue Ribbon committee.)<\/p>\n

The Senate has earlier issued a subpoena compelling Binay\u2019s attendance in the hearing.<\/p>\n

However, Binay filed a formal motion to the senate saying that he will not attend the hearing until his motion is resolved.<\/p>\n

During the past hearings discussing Binay\u2019s and his father Vice President Jejomar Binay\u2019s involvement in the alleged overpriced parking building, the younger Binay defended his family from the accusations.<\/p>\n

The Binays were accused of benefiting 13 percent from each project of the city and of rigging public biddings favoring certain companies.<\/p>\n

Binay denied the allegations during the past hearings claiming that the allegations are part of a political movement against them.<\/p>\n

In a press conference this morning, he also criticized some senators for their behaviors during the past hearings which he said are movements to \u201cprejudge\u201d him and his family.<\/p>\n

His father also added on earlier reports that the accusations are meant to malign him and his family in time for the coming 2016 elections.<\/p>\n

Vice President Binay has expressed his interest to run as President in the 2016 polls.<\/p>\n

In his press conference, the younger Binay again criticized some senators for their demeanor during the past hearings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
