Photo from the official Facebook Page of Lav Diaz.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA&#8211; The commended Lav Diaz film titled \u201cNorte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan,\u201d has been selected as the country\u2019s official entry to the 87th Academy Awards.<\/p>\n<p>This was confirmed by the team behind the movie on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The four-hour movie will be submitted by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) to compete in the Best Foreign Language Film category of the Oscars.<\/p>\n<p>The official nominees in the said category will be announced in January of next year, while the awarding is set on February 22.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNorte\u201d was shot in Ilocos Norte. Both local and international critics commended the film. As a matter of fact, the movie was listed as one of the best films of 2013.
