MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that 223 more police officers contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total number of cases among its ranks to 4,785.<\/p>\n

As of Tuesday evening, the PNP Health Service said of the 223 new infections, 96 were from the National Operational Support Units, followed by the Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon) with 61; the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) with 19; the National Headquarters and PRO 4-A (Calabarzon) with 14 each; the National Administrative Support Unit with nine; PRO 5 (Bicol) with six; and PRO 6 (Western Visayas) with four.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, 3,337 PNP personnel have already recovered from the disease while the death toll stands at 16.<\/p>\n

The PNP Health Service is also monitoring 745 probable cases and 3,135 suspected cases.<\/p>\n

Cops tested for Covid-19 observe a 14-day quarantine and undergo another test.<\/p>\n
