(File photo: Christelle Hayek\/Unsplash)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em>The Government of Canada has unveiled additional immigration measures to help Lebanese nationals.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Canada has unveiled additional immigration support to Lebanese nationals following last month\u2019s tragic explosion in Beirut.<\/p>\n<div style=\"position:absolute;left:-99195px;\"> buy cialis super active online <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soundviewmed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/png\/cialis-super-active.html\">https:\/\/www.soundviewmed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/png\/cialis-super-active.html<\/a> no prescription pharmacy <\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The supports were announced on September 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, several weeks after Canada established an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2020\/08\/canada-offers-immigration-support-to-lebanon-0815482.html#gs.ensgx3\">immigration task force<\/a>\u00a0in support of Lebanese individuals impacted by the explosion.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian government will prioritize travel documents for Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Lebanon, as well as waive some fees in order to help such individuals return to Canada.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/immigration-refugees-and-citizenship-canada-ircc.html#gs.epa2x8\">Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada<\/a>\u00a0(IRCC) is also prioritizing visitor visa applications for the immediate family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents that were personally impacted by the Beirut explosion. Immediate family members include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spouses<\/li>\n<li>Common-law partners<\/li>\n<li>Dependent children<\/li>\n<li>Parents or step-parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>IRCC invites individuals in need of assistance to read its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/news\/notices\/immigration-and-consular-assistance-beirut-2020.html\">dedicated webpage<\/a>\u00a0to find out if they are eligible for the special measures Canada has put in place. After reading the webpage, IRCC states that individuals can send their questions to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:IRCC.SituationLebanon-SituationLiban.IRCC@cic.gc.ca\">IRCC.SituationLebanon-SituationLiban.IRCC@cic.gc.ca<\/a>. It will aim to respond to questions within five business days.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to qualify for assistance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To qualify for assistance, individuals must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit an application between September 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2020 and January 31, 2021;<\/li>\n<li>Follow the instructions listed on IRCC\u2019s webpage;<\/li>\n<li>Have lived in an affected area at the time of the explosion if you are applying as an immediate family member of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; and<\/li>\n<li>Include proof that you were personally impacted by the explosion. Types of proof can include documentation listing your residential address or copy of medical or legal documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Options if you want to immigrate to Canada as a Lebanese skilled worker<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you are a Lebanese citizen who wishes to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker, there are over 100 different pathways\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2020\/08\/how-to-immigrate-to-canada-from-lebanon-0815499.html#gs.envrvs\">available to you<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are an estimated 200,000 to 400,000 Lebanese individuals in Canada and around 1,800 Lebanese immigrate to Canada annually.<\/p>\n<p>The main way to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker is through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2020\/09\/express-entry-canada-invites-4200-immigration-candidates-0915634.html#gs.envsci\">Express Entry system<\/a>.
