He recovered and tested negative for the virus on April 8.\u00a0 (PNA file photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Interior Secretary Eduardo A\u00f1o has been discharged from the hospital but will continue to recuperate at home.<\/p>\n<p>In a text message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Tuesday night, A\u00f1o said he was discharged from the hospital on August 30, two weeks after he tested positive anew for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on August 16.<\/p>\n<p>He said he is on self-quarantine while waiting for the results of his swab test, which will determine whether he is already free of Covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Hindi na ako nag<\/em>-antibiotics\u00a0<em>kasi<\/em>\u00a0virus<em>\u00a0ito. Magte<\/em>-take<em>\u00a0ka lang ng<\/em>\u00a0antibiotics<em>\u00a0kung namaga yung<\/em>\u00a0lungs\u00a0<em>mo o tinamaan &#8216;yung<\/em>\u00a0lungs or kidneys or (internal) organs mo (I did not take antibiotics because this is a virus. You will only take antibiotics if your lungs or your kidneys or internal organs have been affected),&#8221; A\u00f1o said.<\/p>\n<p>Except for some coughing, he said he was feeling fine.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Pero pag malakas lungs mo, yan ang laban mo diyan<\/em>\u00a0(But if you have strong lungs, you have a good chance of recovery). In my case,\u00a0<em>malakas ang<\/em>\u00a0lungs\u00a0<em>ko, so ako di nahirapan sa<\/em>\u00a0breathing (I have strong lungs so I did not have difficulty breathing),&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00f1o first tested positive for Covid-19 on March 31.
