ROBINSON NI\u00d1AL JR.\/PRESIDENTIAL PHOTO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 President Rodrigo Duterte will continue to deliver his weekly public address despite the implementation of month-long nationwide community quarantine, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>In a virtual press conference aired on state-run PTV-4, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte would always find time addressing the nation every week to keep them updated about the government\u2019s continuing fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cTuluy-tuloy po ang<\/em>\u00a0weekly public address\u00a0<em>ni Presidente<\/em>\u00a0(The President\u2019s weekly public address will push continue),\u201d Roque said.<\/p>\n<p>Roque\u2019s assurance came after the duration of quarantine classifications in the country has been extended to one month from the previous two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>He gave the guarantee amid speculation on Duterte\u2019s health condition.<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 27, Roque said Malaca\u00f1ang is considering airing Duterte\u2019s speeches live to allay public concerns over the 75-year-old President\u2019s state of health.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte usually delivers public address every late Monday evening, compelling the state-run PTV-4 to sometimes air it the following morning.<\/p>\n<p>However, Duterte\u2019s address to the nation on Monday night was aired on PTV-4 the same day it was delivered but was taped.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from live airing of Duterte\u2019s speeches, there is a possibility that he might also hold a live virtual press briefing with reporters, Roque earlier said.<\/p>\n<p>Roque, in his latest remarks, said Duterte has yet to decide on the proposed live press briefing with Palace reporters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re still awaiting the decision of the President.
