He was 85. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nT0reHGgT6\">pic.twitter.com\/nT0reHGgT6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; CBCPNews (@cbcpnews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cbcpnews\/status\/1298416222850097152?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 26, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz passed away at the age of 85.<\/p>\n<p>In a Twitter post, the official news website of the Catholic Bishops\u2019 Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said Cruz died early morning on Wednesday due to a lingering illness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArchbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz of Lingayen-Dagupan died today at 6:45 a.m. at the Cardinal Santos Hospital due to a lingering illness. He was 85,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz, a former president of the CBCP, retired in 2009.
