Razon)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The government\u2019s recovery plan, dubbed as \u201cRecharge PH\u201d, would help Filipinos cope with the crisis brought about by the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, Malaca\u00f1ang said on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the statement after the Social Weather Stations (SWS), in its July 3 to 6 poll, revealed that 36 percent of adult Filipinos believe their quality of life would worsen in the next 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>SWS found that only 26 percent of adult Filipinos are optimistic about life improvement, while 30 percent expect their life to stay the same in the next 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>In a press statement, Roque said the poll results were already anticipated, given that the country is still grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Roque, nevertheless, admitted the number of Filipinos who expect the life to get worse in the next 12 months is \u201ccertainly an issue that concerns the administration.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Palace acknowledges that the Covid-19 pandemic and the quarantine restrictions have adversely affected the socioeconomic conditions of our people for the respondents of the survey to have this opinion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Roque said Recharge PH would serve as a \u201cwhole-of-society\u201d program that aims to help the country recover from the Covid-19 crisis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is for this reason government economists have prepared a whole-of-society program in our recovery plan called Recharge PH to mitigate its impact,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Recharge PH, formulated by the National Economic and Development Authority, seeks to refocus, sharpen the design, and accelerate the implementation of programs under the 2020 General Appropriations Act to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and reboot the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>Roque also noted that the so-called \u201cIngat Buhay para sa Hanapbuhay (Protect Life for Livelihood)\u201d campaign would be launched to help individuals affected by the temporary shutdown of businesses due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ingat bahay para sa hanapbuhay<\/em>\u00a0is our current direction with the gradual opening of industries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the resumption of the government\u2019s ambitious \u201cBuild, Build, Build\u201d infrastructure program would also contribute to the country\u2019s fast recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope to revitalize the economy and stimulate growth for the betterment of the lives of our people,\u201d Roque said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u00a0\u2013 The government\u2019s recovery plan, dubbed as \u201cRecharge PH\u201d, would help Filipinos cope with the crisis brought about by the &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":266124,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16,95],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-266109","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-news-ph","mauthors-ruth-abbey-gita-carlos","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/266109","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=266109"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/266109\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":266125,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/266109\/revisions\/266125"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/266124"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=266109"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=266109"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=266109"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
