(Pixabay photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Qu\u00e9bec government and its various partners are gradually resuming international recruitment efforts, including the Journ\u00e9es Qu\u00e9bec (Qu\u00e9bec Days), which bring together businesses seeking to hire international talent.<\/p>\n<p>Qu\u00e9bec is holding online recruitment campaigns targeting foreign workers to help employers in the province fill labour shortages and support the province\u2019s post-pandemic economic recovery.<span id=\"more-15391\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The planned recruitment initiatives called the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/journeesquebec.gouv.qc.ca\/candidats.html#haut\">Journ\u00e9es Qu\u00e9bec<\/a>\u00a0(Qu\u00e9bec Days) are led by the Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019Immigration du Qu\u00e9bec, with the support of its network of representatives in various locations around the world: Dakar, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York, Paris and Rabat.<\/p>\n<p>The events that had been planned over the past four months were postponed back in March as a precautionary measure to stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). New dates have now been scheduled and include the following online events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>October 19 to November 6, 2020: Recruitment Mission by Montr\u00e9al International in information technology, video games and artificial intelligence;<\/li>\n<li>October 26-30, 2020: Qu\u00e9bec Tunis Days in health and multisector;<\/li>\n<li>November 3-6, 2020: Qu\u00e9bec Sao Paulo Days in the health sector;<\/li>\n<li>November 17-21, 2020: Qu\u00e9bec Bogota Days in health and multisector;<\/li>\n<li>November 30 to December 5, 2020: Qu\u00e9bec Paris Days in the health and multisector;<\/li>\n<li>November 30 to December 8, 2020: Qu\u00e9bec Mauritius and Madagascar Days in health and multisector; and<\/li>\n<li>January 2021: Qu\u00e9bec Dakar Days in health and information technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Journ\u00e9es Qu\u00e9bec events enable employers to review the available talent in a pool of candidates, find the right match, set up interviews and hire them.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/working-in-canada.html?_ga=2.227697236.834164578.1597065524-242276367.1576891811#gs.d3yz3x\">Foreign workers<\/a>\u00a0interested in accessing job offers or showcasing their skills to Qu\u00e9bec employers are invited to submit a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/journeesquebec.gouv.qc.ca\/connexion\/connectez-vous.html\">registration<\/a>\u00a0application.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe success of the Journ\u00e9es Qu\u00e9bec formula is based on the real possibility of finding a job and achieving personal goals in a stimulating new environment where creativity and boldness open up many horizons. Jobs are available in several regions of Qu\u00e9bec, and each of these regions offers its own unique way of life that reconciles personal, family and professional aspirations,\u201d according to the government\u2019s Web site.<\/p>\n<p>All planned recruitment activities will be carried out in a virtual format. Moreover, the eventual arrival of foreign workers will take place in accordance with the health measures prescribed by the Government of Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n<p>Recruitment efforts undertaken as part of the Qu\u00e9bec Days fall within the framework of Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s efforts to find more workers for the health and technology sectors.<\/p>\n<p>In late May, the Qu\u00e9bec government announced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2020\/05\/quebec-announces-major-immigration-reforms-2-new-pilots-0514514.html#gs.d3vpzm\">major reforms<\/a>\u00a0to its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/quebec-skilled-immigration.html#gs.d3zagb\">immigration programs<\/a>, including two new pilot immigration programs for nursing assistants and technology workers.<\/p>\n<p>Nurse aides, or orderlies, are in high demand throughout the province. According to the Government of Qu\u00e9bec, current programs are not meeting labour market demands. Since 2013, only 115 nursing assistants have been selected for permanent residence in Qu\u00e9bec. The new program will aim to bring in 550 nursing assistants per year.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, artificial intelligence and information technology sectors are booming in Qu\u00e9bec.
