(File Photo By Patrick Roque\/Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>MANILA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Department of Education (DepEd) on Monday held a dry run of the alternative delivery modalities under the blended or distance learning to be used for the school year 2020 to 2021.<\/p>\n<p>During the virtual launch of the \u201cHandang Isip, Handang Bukas\u201d school readiness program, about 10 schools showcased their back-to-school preparations in various settings.<\/p>\n<p>Five of these schools will use modular distance learning for the incoming school year \u2013 Don Ruben E. Ecleo Sr. Memorial High School, Don Luis Hidalgo Memorial School, Sucao Elementary School, Malaya Elementary School\u2019s Special Education Program, and TAGUMpay Palengskwelahan.<\/p>\n<p>Three schools &#8212; Santiago City National High School, Navotas National High School, and Shining Light Academy &#8212; will use blended learning which is a combination of modular and online teaching.<\/p>\n<p>The Mangayon Elementary School will use a radio-based and modular teaching approach while Calay IP School will use learning-on-wheels and modular approaches for their learners.<\/p>\n<p>In her speech, Education Secretary Leonor Briones assured learners that DepEd would continue providing learning opportunities despite the absence or limited face-to-face classes in this time of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>To address the varying local situations and needs of learners, Briones said schools and teachers may \u201ccontextualize\u201d the Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Nagpapasalamat kami sa mga magulang ng 22.9 milyong<\/em>\u00a0learners<em>\u00a0na nag-<\/em>enroll<em>\u00a0dahil sila ang magdedesisyon sa kinabukasan ng mga batang ito. Naniniwala pa rin sila sa kapasidad ng\u00a0<\/em>DepEd<em>\u00a0na mag-<\/em>deliver<em>\u00a0ng\u00a0<\/em>response<em>\u00a0sa bagong panahon<\/em>\u00a0(We thank the parents of 22.9 million enrolled learners because they decide on the future of these kids.
